Angie Bitsko is Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director of DelArte Theatre Company. As a theatre artist, Bitsko's experience includes roles performed at the Old Globe Theatre, San Diego Repertory Theatre, the Coronado Playhouse, the McCallum Theatre, La Jolla Stage Company, and the San Diego Performing Arts Center. She has directed/produced over fifty stage productions ranging from classical Shakespeare to contemporary dramatic and musical theatre productions and is an adjunct professor of acting and play production director for John Paul the Great Catholic University. For over thirty years, Angie has served as a classroom teacher, teaching artist, arts educator, and arts administrator for students and artists of all ages and in a variety of educational and artistic settings including San Diego Junior Theatre, the University of San Diego, San Diego State University, the JCS San Diego Academy of Performing Arts, and Arts For Learning San Diego (an affiliate of Young Audiences Arts For Learning). She holds a double Bachelor's degree in Drama and Journalism from the University of Southern California, a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of San Diego/Old Globe Theatre Professional Training Program, a Master of Arts degree in English and Comparative Literature from San Diego State University, and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential (Drama, Social Sciences, English, Journalism).
